After combining for 50 points in the season opener against the Craftsbury Chargers, Connor and Zack Daley were once again the story in this one. The cousins poured in a total of 62 points despite sitting out the fourth quarter. The Eagles jumped out to a big lead in the early going, and cruised to a 79-54 victory.
The Chargers struggled with spacing against the Eagles' press on their small court, leading to turnovers and difficult shots. Had it not been for the outside shooting of Ross Grube and Logan Jones, the score could have been much worse. The Eagles were able to penetrate the Charger defense effectively, finding open shots in the paint at will.
Connor Daley connected with an early three-pointer, causing the Chargers to spread out in an effort to take away the perimeter. On cue, Zack Daley began getting uncontested shots in the paint. The duo would account for 44 first-half points, and the Eagles held a commanding 50-27 lead at intermission.
The third quarter was more of the same. Connor Daley continued to knife through defenders and convert easy shots from close range, scoring 12 points in the quarter. The Eagles took a 68-36 lead into the fourth quarter, and were able to rest their starters for the remainder of the game.
Connor Daley was the high-scorer, pouring in a season-high 32 points. Cousin Zack Daley was not far behind, tallying 30 points of his own.
Ross Grube scored 21 points for the Chargers in the losing effort.
The win is the third in a row for the Eagles, who now stand at 7-5 on the season.
