Canaan Clobbers Concord

The Canaan Eagles bounced back from a disappointing loss against Pittsburg with a convincing victory over the Concord Wildcats. A gigantic ten-run explosion in the fourth inning lifted the Eagles to an insurmountable lead. From that point on, the Eagles put it in cruise control and rolled to the 14-1 win.

The Eagles scored once in the first inning after both Danielle Harris and Paige Marchand were hit by pitches. Harris would come around to score again in the second inning, as the Eagles jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. The worst, however, had yet to come for the Wildcats.

After a quiet third inning from both teams, the Eagles went to work in the fourth. At one point, ten of eleven consecutive batters would reach base. Pariseau and Marchand both walked to start the inning. Annick Marquis, Melanie Rodrigue, and Melinda Jones would follow with three straight singles. After a walk to Britney Fuller, Ashley Vigneault, Becky Lienau, Pariseau, and Marchand would all collect singles to keep the rally going. When the inning finally came to a close, the Eagles lead stood at 13-0.

Pariseau worked the first four innings for Canaan, allowing no runs while striking out eight. Marquis threw the final three innings, surrendering Concord's lone run in the fifth.

The win brings the Eagles record back to .500 at 2-2.
