Thetford Sweeps Twin Bill Against Canaan

The Thetford Academy Panthers dominated every aspect of the game, taking both matches in a doubleheader against the Canaan Eagles. Neither Kaitlyn Pariseau or Annick Marquis could silence the Thetford offense, as the Panthers combined to outscore the Eagles 20-0.

The story of the opening game was the pitching from the Panthers. Thirteen times a Canaan batter came to the plate, only to leave with a strikeout. The Eagles could only muster three hits in the game, while Thetford continued piled on the runs. When all was said and done, the Panthers had cruised to a 12-0 victory.

The second game was more of the same from both teams. Thetford wasted no time accumulating a big run lead by the third inning, when this game would be stopped. On an attempted steal, Canaan shortstop Danielle Harris was unable to come up with throw from catcher Paige Marchand, which would unfortunately connect with Harris' nose. The injury, coupled with an eight run deficit, prompted manager Larry Fuller to call the game.

The pair of losses drops the Eagles' record to 3-4 on the season.
