Canaan Steering Committee Description
The role of Canaan’s steering committee will be to provide guidance, foster collaboration, and make recommendations on educational policy and student welfare within Canaan Schools. The committee will meet monthly, and that meeting will be based on the group’s availability. General Roles of the Steering Committees in Canaan will be to: Promote Student Welfare and Advancement: The steering committee will work to improve the educational outcomes and general well-being of students. Recruitment and Outreach They will develop a strategic plan to recruit and increase staff, student and community participation that includes regular outreach, clear communication of roles and responsibilities, and opportunities for meaningful engagement to ensure effective collaboration in managing joint school and community initiatives. Review Data and Action Planning: The steering committee will review school-level data and provide recommendations for action based on data. Create and Coordinate Sub-Committees: The steering committees will guide and coordinate the work of various sub-committees to ensure efficiency and alignment of efforts. Recommend Policies and Actions: The steering committee will recommend actions and/or policies.
