Act 73
Good morning,
To help dismissal run more efficiently, beginning Tuesday, September 30, we ask that all parents and guardians remain in their vehicles during afternoon pickup. An adult with a radio will come by to ask which student(s) you are picking up. That information will be relayed into the building, and your child will be sent out to you.

If you have any questions, please contact:
Ryan Csizmesia, Principal
📞 (802) 266-8910 ext. 2104

Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us keep pickup safe and orderly.

Volunteers Needed
Canaan Schools is seeking community input on our Act 73 redistricting committee

With the passage of Act 73, the state of Vermont has created a redistricting task force to bring forward 3 maps for the legislature to consider for redrawing district boundaries to include 4,000-8,000 students where practical. The Canaan School District is working with other NEK districts to create a position paper for the task force's consideration and would very much like to obtain the input of the local community. Our position at this time is that redistricting to a large supervisory union is not practical given the geographic isolation of Canaan, but we would consider sharing resources with other districts when it is practical.

If you are interested in sharing your thoughts, ideas, and data points to help us with this work, please reach out to Sylvia Lacasse at slacasse@ensuvt.org.
